Sword of Vermillion for Nintendo Wii Game Review
This is an old game that had its inception in early 1990. Originally released as an RPG by SEGA it has been reborn on the Nintendo Wii. When Sword of Vermillion initially released, it was new and fresh. Now that it is done again, it lacks these qualities.
In 1990 Sword of Vermillion had great graphics with intricate details. You could actually tell one monster from another! Today however, its graphics don’t compare so well with many of the other games on the market. If you are interested in classic gaming, you might still be disappointed with this game.
Now to the sound. The sound isn’t anything to remember. It is not memorable at all. Some parts are good, but not enough to match with the great soundtracks available today.
The story is not inventive or creative in any sense. You get to be the son of a king. You have a quest to go on. The usual. Nothing new in this one.
To make matters worse the gameplay is mediocre as well. You have to play the game in towns and dungeons and that is all. There are no exciting mini games here. The distractions are few and far between. It gets quite monotonous.
In a nutshell, although this game is something of a classic, it provides little entertainment for todays gamers. If nostalgia is what you are after, I recommend Phantasy Star 2 or Phantasy Star 3.
