Sonic and the Secret Rings For The Nintendo Wii Game Review
Sonic and the Secret Rings is available for the Nintendo Wii from Sega Of America, Inc. at a price of $19.99. This game is refreshing in that it is the first Sonic game in some time that lives true to the Sonic tradition. Although three dimensional travel is possible, the most common movement is forward since you are generally moving down a narrow path.
The story is creative fantasy. Erazor - an evil genie is destroying the book “The Arabian Nights”. With enough power he might leave the book and terrorize the hedgehog’s dimension. Sonic needs to put a stop to Erazors plans and the story revolves around this.
You, as Sonic travel through 7 fantasy worlds which include a pirate level, a floating ruin, a dinosaur world and more. The aim is to collect magic rings to restore the book - the Arabian Nights. As you go through the different challenges in each level, you and enjoy them, you begin to appreciate the fun and magic of Sonic The Hedgehog.
Although the controls are simple, they can frustrate you at times. Completing challenges leads acquiring new skills. The single player game will take your complete weekend to finish. There is a multiplayer mode as well. This involves a number of minigames.
I loved the graphics in Sonic and the Secret Rings. The pace of the game is good and I loved the themes of every level. The English voice acting is not up to the mark; you can listen to Japanese voices if you choose. Among the many great games out there, Sonic and The Secret Rings definitely holds its own. Recommended.
