MLB Power Pros 2008 for the Nintendo Wii Game Review
The last installment of MLB Pros was a surprisingly rewarding game to play. This years installment has a Success mode as well as a role playing mode with which to enjoy the game. Let me take you through Success Mode. In this mode you can choose how you spend your time – take a walk in the park, train or work in a restaurant. When you visit the hot dog stand apart from positive effects on the character, you may also get to meet wacky characters with really bizarre dialogue.
Interestingly the main character suffers from amnesia. Training is automated and you can choose in which area you want to train. A random drawing of five cards results in the success or failure of your training session. You can also develop your character by spending skill points. The control system for playing is good, though there are no motion controls. There are a number of ways to play this game. Exhibition mode is another interesting mode. You can play as any MLB team you like. Player stats can be tailored as per your liking.
My favorite mode was the RPG mode – MLB Life. Here you get to be the persona of a Major Leaguer and live the high life. You can choose among playing a season, create a dream team, play a custom tournament and more. This game also allows you to import your own Mii’s. This fantatastic baseball game is yours for $39.99.
