Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Nintendo Wii Game Review
If you are looking for a reasonably adult game that can be played by many and isn’t too juvenile then you might want to get this game in your sights. This game uses the Wii-mote to its full capacity.
In this game, what you have to do is choose a character that competes against AI or against other people. You have a range of characters each of which has their own positives and negatives, to choose from.
The events are modelled around the real olympics. There are dashes, relays, rowing, archery, table tennis and a number of other events that would be familiar to olympics viewers. With success, more events get unlocked.
There are various play modes – Single Event mode, Circuit Mode, Mission Mode and Gallery mode. The games are interactive and fun. Some games require a lot of coordination.
I would like to commend the graphics on this game which are better than the graphics on any of the Wii games I have played. Character movements are pretty lifelike. Shadows, reflections, etc. are pretty good too.
I liked the sound as well. You have an option to play with nun-chucks and I would recommend playing this way. It is much more fun.
In sum, I would like to say that these games have been made to use to Wii to the fullest extent to enhance your fun quotient. You may find the controls tough at first, but that is part of the fun. Highly recommended.
