Ghost Squad for the Nintendo Wii Game Review
Recently Sega released Ghost Squad for the Nintendo Wii. Priced at $21.15,Ghost Squad can be best called a cheeky tribute to the arcade light gun games of the mid 90’s.This version of the game brings the light gun shooter experience to your doorstep by making full use of the new plastic Wii Zapper gun.
Developed by AM2 which has a glorious past of arcade hits like the House of the Dead and Virtua Cop, Ghost Squad too is a chip of the old bloc with ridiculous idiosyncrasies to boot. While the game plot comprising of a world in the grips of terrorism and the UN being compelled to form the Global Humanitarian-Operation and Special Tactics Squad (Ghost Squad) might make you think that the game spells’ serious’ all the way, get ready for a wake-up call.
The makers of the game seem intent to cash in on your funny bone because the game by itself probably won’t. So during the course of the game you will unlock options like Ninja mode (where thugs turn into ninjas and you are armed with throwing shurikens) and Paradise mode (where terrorists turn into bikini clad girls at whom you can throw bananas or spray them with your dolphin-shaped squirt gun) which invariably turn out to be the best reasons to play this game.
The game essentially has three missions but the variety of difficulty levels can keep a seasoned gamer engaged for some time. The audio and graphics are a bit of a let down with shoddy voice acting and sub-standard in-game graphics. The lack of a multiplayer mode online is a huge disappointment because who wouldn’t want to share this “so weird that it is actually appealing experience” with fellow gamers.
