Driver: Parallel Lines for the Nintendo Wii Game Review

In the tradition of the Driver: Parallel Lines on other consoles the Wii version isn’t entertaining at all. The controls are inadequate to say the least. The storyline lacks creativity and the character development hardly exists. Mission design is dull as well. It all adds up to one boring game.

The game begins in 1978 when as an 18 year old in search of a rush, you get into the company of car thieves. TK (you) get jailed for 28 years in the process. When you gets out you have revenge on your mind. The backdrop is interesting but with poor development the story falls short of what could have been a great game.

You get to drive in the streets of a big, open city. Apart from the main story there are side missions which can help you upgrade your car. Both aiming and looking is done through the Wii Mote which makes both difficult.

The Wii version of this game is as good as the Xbox version. Good frame rate and good environments are spoilt by goofy looking characters. The audio is strictly satisfactory. This game is a GTA clone, but definitely lacks many of the good parts of GTA.

As I played this game I realised that it was hardly as satisfying as GTA. Not enough value for money even at just $19.99. Not Recommended.
