Chicken Shoot: Cluck-Cluck
W
ho would have ever thought that shooting a defenseless chicken would elicit sympathetic clucks from seasoned gamers? After a short time firing away at sitting chickens, you begin to feel sorry for the cartoonishly drawn birds as they parade repetitively across the screen.
The promise of the cover art does not pan out when you see a haphazard variety of wardrobe choices for the chickens that run to the Dada-esque extreme. Sometimes non-sequiturs are funny for their placement but the chicken roles are virtually random. As the poor birds pop-up, you just press the B button and point the Wii remote. Sound tough? Try catching eggs as they fall out of the chicken’s @$$ and fall to the ground. After a few tries at this mini-game, you will be ready to go ovo-free as they crack open on the ground.
What really is interesting about Chicken Shoot, (no scratch that—there isn’t anything interesting about this shooting gallery), is that someone thought that it could make money. Maybe some uninformed parent would spot the cover art on a shelf and jump for the title in hopes that the marketing dollar wasn’t the only money spent. When you see this egg at a tag sale for 50 cents, do yourself a favor and avoid stepping in it. After all, we know that Shoot is just another word with two Os.
