Big Beach Sports for the Nintendo Wii Game Review
Published by THQ and developed by HB Studios, Big Beach Sports for the Nintendo Wii was released on the 24th of June and belongs to the sport genre. Inspired by the fame of Wii Sports, THQ attempts to relive the success through Big Beach Sports. The game comprises of six beach side games-American football, soccer, cricket, volleyball, disc golf and boules. While some games play better than others, none offers any sort of depth or enormous satisfaction. This game is a fun and simple multiplayer diversion that entertains you, even if mildly.
In the major bulk of the game the Wii Remote’s motion-sensing abilities come in use. For instance, in cricket you hold the Wii Remote like a bat and mimic a swing to hit the ball. Mission accomplished! It’s as simple as it gets. The computer handles the movement of your players without requiring directions from you so that you can focus on the throwing and hitting actions.
The most fun game in this selection is Disc Golf where you play golf with Frisbees that come in different sizes depending on the distance from the basket. You start of with relatively simple holes but as the game progresses you encounter ponds and trees that you need to avoid. Amongst the others, Boules is a take on the classic bowls while American football is a made-to-fit beach version of the game consisting of two-on-two players. Let’s not talk about soccer, because the game is just not suited for such a package.
The Big Beach Sports is priced at $29.99 which is a pretty decent amount for a game such as this. Best to play it with friends and enjoy the beach experience while sitting at home.
